I'm comparing the two plans listed on the product page and wanted a second opinion on how to think about the pricing.

It currently shows $35 for 31 days and $150 for lifetime access.

Purely on the maths, five monthly periods would cost $175, so lifetime reaches the lower total after roughly four and a half months. But that obviously doesn't tell you whether the product is worth buying or what the future support situation looks like.

What do you usually check before choosing between a monthly plan and lifetime access?

Not looking for made-up reviews saying one option is magically perfect. Just trying to understand what matters besides the headline price.

    The monthly option is obviously less money up front. I'd be more concerned about the terms and what happens if I decide I don't want it after a month.

    The maths is about 4.3 monthly periods to reach $150, assuming those listed prices stay the same. But break-even maths isn't the same as value. It assumes you actually want and can use the product throughout that period.

    Also check what they mean by lifetime. Lifetime of what exactly? The product, the licence, or some particular version? I'd want the terms to explain it.

    Refund policy too. People remember to check the price and forget everything else until they have a problem.

    Good point. I'd also check whether support is included in both plans and what the actual support terms say instead of assuming the plans are identical.

    And don't base the choice on an "undetected forever" promise. A seller can't guarantee that enforcement or compatibility will never change. Read the actual terms and make the decision based on what is documented.
